INDIVIDUAL CHAPTER:
MARIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA1 Trishaw
1 Core Pilot
60 Rides per year
$850 Annual Budget
Ole’s TED talk kept coming up in her research on bike commuting, got her hooked.
Bought her first trishaw with funds she inherited from her father when he passed.
Initially tried to train pilots locally. Realized she would rather focus on giving rides.
Loans Gertrude the trishaw out from Bend to Sacramento to inspire others to start chapters.

All funded directly by Cheryl’s time and resources

Offers rides through several senior homes, a group that houses homeless, and direct booking with individual seniors.

Local ebike shop helps with maintenance

Transports her trishaw in her truck, loading with motorcycle ramps
Even as a solo operator, Cheryl knows the importance of getting Gertrude out into the community in creative ways. As an avid cyclist herself, she works to provide adventures for older adults both locally and further afield.

Brings Gertrude to senior free lunches and offers rides.

Stop for coffee or a donut. Many of these local businesses might sponsor your chapter and offer free/discounted drinks and snacks to pilots and riding partners.

Has loaded up Gertrude and a riding partner and driven her truck out to ride locations that have a special meaning for that riding partner
