ABOUT THE BIKE
The Chat is an award-winning trishaw developed by Dutch manufacturer Van Raam, known for designing adaptive bikes since 1974. This model was refined over 18 months and quickly became a favorite for its comfort and functionality. With a wide 100 cm cushioned seat and a footrest that lowers all the way to the ground, controlled by the pilot, it’s designed for ease of access and a smooth ride. To further enhance comfort, the passenger box sits on a spring suspension system that absorbs bumps in the road.

FUNCTIONALITY AND DETAILS
The Chat is powered by a 250-watt electric motor offering 60 Nm of torque and three assist levels, plus a walk-assist up to 6 km/h. The motor is controlled from the handlebar console or the Van Raam smartphone app. A unique feature is the reverse gear, simply pedal backwards and the trishaw backs up. The 8-speed derailleur provides flexible gearing options for all types of terrain. Its cast aluminum front wheels offer strength and stability, while the hydraulic disc brakes ensure smooth and safe stopping. The rear wheel is 26”, and the front wheels are 20”. With a total length of 232 cm, a width of 111 cm, and a height of 117 cm, the Chat is spacious yet easy to handle. Weighing 97 kg, it can carry up to 320 kg in total, including 200 kg in the front passenger box. The 36V 13.6 Ah lithium-ion battery provides 490 Wh of reliable power for longer rides.

FAQ
How long does it take to charge the battery?
The battery charges fully in 4 hours. You don’t have to charge the battery after every use. Your battery should be charged at least once every 6 months.
How far is the range on the bike?
Your range depends on how much you use the battery. A ride with hills and maximum capacity in very cold or hot weather, will drain the battery quicker than moderate use in flat terrain. On average, one fully charged battery will be enough for a 4 hour ride. Consider buying an extra battery in case you want to be out for longer.
